Violence Prevention

Partially meets

Partially meets the criterion.

Mexico has a national violence-prevention policy and operational instruments aimed at addressing social risk factors, expanding access to public services, restoring community spaces, and reducing the availability of weapons. The sources document national and territorial implementation through household visits, peace fairs and community events, educational, employment, health, cultural, and sports activities, as well as voluntary disarmament initiatives.

The evidence confirms broad implementation but does not establish effective coverage, the number of unique beneficiaries, the intensity and continuity of interventions, or their causal impact with sufficient precision. No independent evaluation was identified attributing sustained reductions in homicide, armed violence, community violence, or criminal recruitment to these programmes. The policy and its implementation are therefore verified, but their effectiveness remains incompletely demonstrated.
