1617.1 Cultivation and Production of Illegal Substances
Presence of Illegal Crops
Meets
Meets the criterion.
Mexico records recent presence of illicit opium-poppy, cannabis, and coca-leaf crops. The evidence includes federal detection and eradication operations, together with verified findings across several states.
Available data mainly concern detected and destroyed crop sites rather than a consolidated national estimate of the total cultivated area. This limits measurement of scale but does not create uncertainty regarding the material existence of the phenomenon.
